everlasting (ĕv ǝr lǎs tǐng) adj
- never coming to an end; eternal
- lasting for an indefinitely long period
- lasting so long or occurring so often as to become tedious; incessant I cannot bear her everlasting complaints
- endless duration; eternity
God’s word is everlasting. He does not
change. He has no comparison, no equal (Isaiah 45:21). There is none like Him
and never will be.
Think on the marvels of God… His
creation, the sacrifice of His Son to save us from hell, His just judgment and
mercy, His grace when we think we know better than He does.
What can the little gods of our flesh
do for us? What are those gods in comparison to the only living God? Can money
save us from cancer? Can a boat, car or house keep us from depression? Can a
job or education provide us a true identity?
These things are temporal. They rust,
corrode, and decompose. They are merely trappings of this world. Looking beyond
them we can see the true, eternal things of Heaven. Ceaseless communion with
Jesus. It cannot be bottled or bought. It cannot be sold to feed our greed.
Existence in Heaven is not a free gift
from God. The cost, however, is covered by Jesus. All we have to do is let Him
give it to us. Though the world (those who have chosen to follow flesh) sees
only what they can touch or makes up reasons for God’s miracles according to
their human understanding, we true believers in Jesus Christ must look beyond
and see with our spiritual eyes. We are called to see ourselves as visitors in
this world who will one day be brought to our forever home in Heaven. We are
called to be witnesses here in this world so that we might lead others to
eternal salvation through Jesus Christ and enlarge the population of Heaven
I
often hear people state they were saved from this or that, maybe even from
physical death, for a reason. My questions are:
Do we ever ask God what that reason
is?
Are we willing to sacrifice to attain
the answer?
What would we do with the answer if we
learned it?
Are we willing to surrender our lives
to Jesus to accomplish the tasks at hand?
Are we TRULY grateful for our
salvation?
Are we willing to make ourselves of no
account so that when others look at us they see Jesus?
Are we willing to believe that He
saved us not for some big flashy reason, but to be an everyday witness by our
actions and words?
Are
we humbled enough by God’s mercy and Jesus’ sacrifice to endure the punishment
satan will heap on us as we fulfill God’s calling for our lives?
God and satan want the same thing from
us… our eternal souls. The rewards are quite different however.
The bible describes Heaven as a place
of peace and beauty. The walls are made of precious stones, the streets of
gold, and the sea is made of crystal. There is no night, no deception, no
sadness or sickness. Heaven is illuminated by the Glory of God and we, as true
believers, are allowed to be in His presence for eternity.
The bible describes Hell as a place of
constant torment where fire burns eternally. There is no rest in Hell. There is
no quenching for your thirst. What a contrast with Heaven.
If God’s word is everlasting, then
Heaven and Hell are too. Think about that.

DESCRIPTION OF HELL

- A place of weeping and gnashing of teeth - "And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Matthew 25:30).
- A place of outer darkness - "Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Matthew 22:13).
- A place of torments - "And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom" (Luke 16:23).
- A place of Sorrows - "The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;" (2 Samuel 22:6).
- A place of everlasting destruction - "Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;" (II Thessalonians 1:9).
- A place where men are tormented with fire and brimstone - "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death" (Revelation 21:8).

WHAT
IS HEAVEN LIKE?

Well first off, heaven is
a place for the saved ONLY. There will be no God rejecters in heaven. If you
wish to go to heaven then just accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal
Saviour and Lord. That is the only way to go to heaven.
What does the Bible say
about heaven? Well the Bible gives us some clues but does not go into great
detail about the future destination of the saved. Why is that so? Well I
believe that heaven will be so great and glorious that our minds cannot contain
the blessings and riches of heaven. It hasn't even entered into our minds the
good things God has prepared for His people in heaven.
"But as it is
written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart
of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love
him." (1 Corinthians 2:9)
So because heaven will be
so glorious I'm hard pressed to fully describe it. However the Word of God does
have some clues and even a brief description of heaven. So read on and I'm sure
you will be blessed.
HEAVEN
IS A PLACE OF REWARDS
"Rejoice, and be
exceeding glad: for great [is] your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they
the prophets which were before you." (Matthew 5:12)
"Rejoice ye in that
day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward [is] great in heaven: for in
the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets." (Luke 6:23)
HEAVEN
IS A PLACE WHERE GOD IS WORSHIPPED
"And the four beasts
had each of them six wings about [him]; and [they were] full of eyes within:
and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty,
which was, and is, and is to come. And when those beasts give glory and honour
and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth forever and ever, The four
and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him
that liveth forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast
created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were
created." (Revelation 4:8-11)
HEAVEN
IS A PLACE WHERE GOD LIVES
"Look down from thy
holy habitation, from heaven, and bless thy people Israel, and the land which
thou hast given us, as thou swarest unto our fathers, a land that floweth with
milk and honey." (Deuteronomy 26:15)
"Whosoever therefore
shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is
in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before
my Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 10:32,33)
HEAVEN
IS A PLACE OF EXCEEDING JOY
"Now unto him that is
able to keep you from falling, and to present [you] faultless before the
presence of his glory with exceeding joy," (Jude 1:24)
"Again, the kingdom
of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath
found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and
buyeth that field." (Matthew 13:44)
TREASURE

whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in

OF THE SAVED ARE WRITTEN IN HEAVEN
"Notwithstanding in
this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice,

THERE
