Galatians
6:7 says
"Do not be deceived, God is not
mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap."
And James
3:8-12 says
"8 But no man
can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse
men, who have been made in the similitude of God. 10 Out of the
same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to
be so. 11 Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter
from the same opening? 12 Can a fig tree, my
brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt
water and fresh."
If a person
is truly saved, he/she will find course speech, drunkenness, sex outside of
marriage, etc to be repulsive. If you can live in this world and enjoy all the
things of this world without hesitation then you are not truly saved. If you
have a check in your spirit (or a prick of your conscience) at doing the things
this world finds acceptable, you are being given a chance to turn or return to
the Lord.
Think of the
example you are giving your children. Would you want to see THEM suffer eternal
damnation because of YOUR pride?
This is a
call for those who have experienced the worst this life has to offer, whether
it be by your own hand or someone else’s, to lay all that down. To give up the
powerful feeling retribution and revenge gives and to show them the grace YOU
would want to receive. To allow Jesus to break your heart that He might rebuild
it in the image of His own. Humble yourself so God does not have to humble you.
Allow Him to show you His mercy.
God can see
your heart and loves you right where you are. This does not, however, mean you
can stay there and live eternally in Heaven. He is drawing you to Him. Heed the
call. He can get you out of whatever bad situation you are in AND He wants to.
This is also a call for those who know people like this to earnestly pray for them. James 5:16 says "the fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." Let us pray for those who are seeking but can't seem to grasp.

Riding the
whirlwind of God’s grace,
