Selah and Amen

There are times when God wants us to think deeply about things to get a revelation of His power, loving kindness, deliverance, etc. and there are times when He wants us to know His promises are completed.

Selah is a call to meditate on what is written just before; to allow God to give you deeper understanding that will remain in your heart and change your life.

Amen is more of a declaration of truth. It is used after a statement of blessing as well as cursing. It confirms God’s holiness and cements His promises. It is an affirmation of fact and an agreement to God’s edicts.

There is nothing like reading God’s word to teach us about Him. It is written to give us every chance of understanding.  It is written that we might live with Him not only in spirit on this earth, but in truth and actuality in Heaven.

Oh Lord,
I pray you would open our hearts and minds to Your word. I pray Lord that as we read and speak it, Your word would become reality in our lives. Lord let us have a revelation of Your love, grace, mercy and sacrifice. Let our love for You overwhelm our lives and become apparent in all we do and say that we might live to Your glory. Amen and Amen!
